Every airport has its hidden pleasures, if you know where to look. Make the most of the time you’re grounded, with our guides to the ten busiest airports in the U.S.

We continue our countdown of the busiest airports in the U.S. with #6 Las Vegas.

6. Las Vegas: McCarran International Airport
Try your luck with more than 1,000 slot machines—or squeeze in a workout at the 24-hour Fitness Center (complete with showers and sauna) above the baggage claim.

Best place to get a drink
Belly up to the bar at the Jose Cuervo Tequileria (C Gates), or try the beer at Gordon Biersch (D Gates). Want to watch the game? Head for the Fox Sports Sky Box by the B Gates.

Best place to eat
Don Alejandro’s Texan Grill (main terminal) for Tex-Mex; The Prickly Pear (D Gates) for breakfast, lunch and dinner; Ruby’s for diner fare and milkshakes (D Gates).

Best place to amuse the kids
Kids (and airplane buffs of all ages) will enjoy the Howard W. Cannon Aviation Museum in the main terminal. Or take the younger ones to the aviation-themed play area by the D Gates.

Best shopping
Shop for upscale clothing at Marshall Rousso (main terminal), indulge in sinful sweets at Ethel M Chocolates (main terminal and all gates), or refresh yourself at the Oxygen Bar (Gates A-D).

Best place to get online
Anywhere! Free wi-fi is available throughout the airport.

Best cheap way to escape the airport
Grab a shuttle outside the Baggage Claim—all the thrills of the Strip are just 15 minutes and $5 or $6 away.

Best place to see something cool
Downstairs at the D Gates, don’t miss the huge desert creatures—including a horny toad and a scorpion—emerging from the floor.
